High-Performance Thermal Protection for Turbocharged Automotive Engines

The Turbo Inlet Pipe Blanket is engineered to deliver maximum heat containment and efficiency for high-temperature turbocharger environments. Designed for passenger vehicles, performance cars, commercial fleets and heavy-duty equipment, this blanket minimizes heat transfer from the turbo’s inlet pipe, helping maintain cooler intake temperatures, reducing turbo lag and improving overall engine reliability.

Constructed with an advanced outer layer made from pulverized volcanic lava rock, the material is woven into a tight, durable mesh that withstands 1800°F (982°C) direct heat and 2500°F (1371°C) radiant heat. This basalt-based fabric structure offers exceptional thermal stability and flame resistance, ensuring long-term durability in continuous high-temperature automotive applications.

Inside the blanket, a high-performance layer of calcium magnesium silicate (CMS) wool insulation provides superior heat containment. With ratings of 1832°F (1000°C) continuous and 2300°F (1260°C) peak, CMS insulation is recognized for its low thermal conductivity, thermal shock resistance and consistent performance across repeated heat cycles. The insulation is reinforced with a stainless steel mesh overlay, delivering additional strength, shape retention and durability under demanding engine bay conditions.

By dramatically reducing radiant and conductive heat around the turbo inlet, the Turbo Inlet Pipe Blanket helps maintain cooler, denser air entering the compressor. This results in improved turbocharger response, reduced heat soak, protection for nearby hoses, wiring and electronic components, and more stable performance in both stock and modified engines.
