BSTFLEX Titanium Thermal Turbo Heat Insulation Blanket is a fitted textile cover for the exhaust-driven turbine housing. It is designed to limit radiant heat exposure around the turbocharger, helping protect nearby wiring, hoses and other temperature-sensitive components. The basalt/lava-fiber exterior is combined with an insulation package specified for the installation.
Choose an existing pattern or submit a housing drawing for a custom titanium turbo blanket. This product belongs to our turbo heat shield blanket range, with material and construction options for different purchasing requirements.
Titanium Turbo Blanket Construction
The outer cover is woven basalt fiber, also described as lava-fiber fabric. Here, titanium identifies the product range; it does not mean a metallic titanium shell. The fabric encloses the insulation assembly, while the pattern controls coverage around the turbine housing.
A lava turbo blanket should be specified as a complete assembly. Two blankets with a similar exterior may have different linings, insulation thicknesses, seams and fasteners. Identify these details when comparing samples or quotations.
| Component | Construction and Specification |
|---|---|
| Outer cover | Woven basalt/lava-fiber fabric. |
| Hot-face lining and insulation | Configurable by order. Specify material, thickness and layer arrangement for the required heat duty and available space. |
| Edge finish | Fiberglass, basalt/lava-fiber or stainless steel options, depending on the selected construction. |
| Sewing thread | Fiberglass, stainless steel or aramid with stainless steel options. Select the thread for the seam location and expected exposure. |
| Fastening | Stainless steel lacing anchors with wire or springs. Confirm the hardware supplied with the selected pattern. |
| Embossed metal foil | Optional additional layer, made to the agreed customer specification. |
| Order-specific features | Housing pattern, insulation package, edge finish, logo and packaging. |
Available Titanium Turbo Blanket Patterns
The following part numbers identify existing BSTFLEX pattern references. Confirm the exact turbocharger and installation before ordering; a family name is not a guarantee of compatibility with every housing variant.

Selecting a T25/T28, T3, T4 or T6 Titanium Turbo Blanket
Measure the turbine housing rather than the compressor cover. Record the outside diameter, housing width, inlet and outlet positions, and the clearance available for insulation. Include photographs from the outlet side and the actuator side so that the pattern can be checked against the installed arrangement.
For an internally wastegated turbo, identify the actuator, linkage and their full movement. A T3 or T4 designation alone does not describe these features. Do not select a blanket solely by flange size, compressor wheel size or engine displacement.
For vehicle-specific inquiries, provide the model year, engine and turbocharger part number. State whether the turbo is original equipment or an aftermarket replacement. Have fitment confirmed before releasing a bulk order.
Temperature Requirements and Thermal Evaluation
Specify the continuous and peak turbine-housing temperatures, the duration of peak operation and any limit for the blanket's outer surface. Identify where the temperatures are measured. Exhaust gas temperature, housing temperature and exterior blanket temperature describe different parts of the installation.
The word titanium does not establish a temperature rating for the complete assembly. Request a construction-specific temperature specification and supporting information for your intended use. Evaluate heat reduction at defined measurement points under repeatable operating conditions rather than applying a general percentage to every engine.
Optional Embossed Metal Foil
An embossed metal foil layer can be incorporated into a custom basalt turbo blanket when required. Specify the metal grade, nominal thickness, embossing pattern and coverage area, or provide a reference sample for review.
The layer position and attachment method are agreed during design review. Metal foil is not included in every standard blanket, and an added foil layer is different from an aluminized fabric outer cover. Include the requirement in the initial inquiry so that seams, edges and installation space can be considered together.
Application and Installation Review
For performance turbo kits and vehicle-specific heat-management projects, begin with the installed housing geometry. For a diesel, generator or industrial-engine application, also describe the duty cycle, enclosure ventilation and service-access requirements so that a suitable construction can be reviewed.
Install only on a cold turbocharger. Check clearance around the actuator, linkage, oil and coolant connections, and surrounding components. Follow the turbocharger manufacturer's requirements for thermal insulation and servicing. This is a turbine-side thermal cover, not a compressor-housing fragment-containment device.
Product Questions
Does every titanium turbo blanket use the same internal insulation?
No. The basalt-fiber exterior identifies this material range, but the internal construction is selected for the order. Ask for the lining material, insulation thickness and assembly details when comparing versions.
Can a blanket be developed from a sample?
Yes. Supply the sample reference with photographs of the installed turbo and identify any required changes. Distinguish a request to reproduce the fit from a request to change the insulation, fastening or exterior finish.
Does a titanium turbo heat shield guarantee more horsepower?
No fixed horsepower or spool-time improvement is specified for this product. Its purpose is thermal management. Any performance claim should be evaluated on the actual engine and turbocharger installation.
Request a Titanium Turbo Blanket Quote
Send the pattern reference or housing drawing, turbocharger part number, operating temperatures and order quantity. Add your requirements for insulation, embossed metal foil, fastening, logo and packaging. For repeat production, include the sample-approval criteria and any critical dimensions.
For branded or drawing-based projects, review our OEM and custom turbo blanket manufacturing information. Request a titanium turbo blanket quotation from BSTFLEX.
Other outer-cover options include carbon turbo blankets, aluminized fabric turbo blankets and silicone-coated fiberglass turbo blankets.
