Heat from the exhaust system can become uncomfortable, especially during slow traffic, extended idling, or frequent stop-and-go riding. This discomfort is often more noticeable for riders with shorter legs when stopping and placing their feet on the ground. Many riders want better heat protection without changing the attractive lines and original look of the bike.
BSTFLEX Heat Shield Liner Kit insulates the inside of the factory heat shield, staying completely hidden once installed. Each liner is precision cut to fit in the space between the exhaust pipe and the outer heat shield. By blocking heat transfer, the liner helps reduce heat radiating toward the rider and passenger, and lowers the surface temperature of the outer heat shield—without permanent modifications.
The liner uses a dual-layer construction: a metal facing layer (aluminum or stainless steel) combined with a high-temperature insulation layer. Depending on your installation design and service requirements, BSTFLEX can supply liners with adhesive backing for faster installation or without adhesive for mechanical retention and easy servicing.
How It Works
Installed between the exhaust pipe and the outer heat shield, the liner acts as a thermal barrier that reduces both radiant and conductive heat transfer. This helps:
-
reduce heat soak in rider/passenger contact zones,
-
improve comfort at stops and in slow traffic,
-
protect nearby components from excessive heat exposure,
-
keep the exhaust shield’s original appearance unchanged.
Features
-
Completely hidden when installed (maintains stock/OEM look)
-
Precision-cut pieces for clean fitment inside heat shields
-
Dual-layer construction: metal facing + insulation layer
-
Simple installation, no permanent modifications required in most cases
-
Durable, long-lasting materials engineered for exhaust-area heat
-
Designed for clean use (no smoke or odor when correctly specified and installed)
-
Available as universal cut-to-fit sheets or vehicle-specific kits
Advantages
-
Keeps the original exhaust styling while improving heat management
-
Flexible material options for different temperature levels and durability needs
-
Adhesive-backed or non-adhesive versions to match your assembly design
-
OEM/ODM customization supported for production programs
Benefits
Reduces heat radiating from the exhaust system, giving the rider and passenger a cooler ride. This is especially noticeable when stopping and putting feet on the ground. The liner lowers surface temperatures of the outer shield while remaining hidden, improving comfort without changing the bike’s appearance.

FAQ
Q1: Will the liner change the stock appearance of the exhaust?
No. The liner installs inside the heat shield and is hidden once assembled.
Q2: Where does the liner install?
It fits between the exhaust pipe and the outer heat shield to reduce heat transfer and surface temperature.
Q3: Do I need adhesive backing?
Not necessarily. Adhesive-backed liners are convenient for quick installation, while non-adhesive liners are preferred for mechanical retention and serviceability.
Q4: Aluminum or stainless steel—what should I choose?
Aluminum is lightweight and reflective; stainless steel provides higher durability and resistance to abrasion/corrosion. BSTFLEX can recommend based on your duty cycle and environment.
Q5: Will it create smoke or odor?
When the correct materials are specified and installation guidance is , the liner is designed for clean use without smoke or odor.
Q6: Can you make a custom die-cut kit for my heat shield?
Yes. We can produce precision die-cut kits based on drawings, templates, or physical samples.
